Handmade soap contains glycerin, an organic compound also known as glycerol. It’s a clear, odourless liquid at room temperature and is derived from vegetable oil. It’s also a natural byproduct of the soap making process.
The glycerin content in your soap actually causes your soap to attract moisture, so if you let your soap sit out in a humid environment, the soap will collect water from the room and little droplets of glycerin dew will cover your soap. Humidity is the number 1 cause of glycerin dew.
Soap Sweat doesn’t affect your soap’s ability to clean. It just happens when your soap is in a humid environment – it’s doing the job it’s intended – attracting moisture! The only real effect is the appearance of your soap.

Aurelia Soapworks candles are created with the finest traditions and we place the highest value on quality, design and hand craftsmanship. We recommend the following care to ensure the longevity of your candle.
BEFORE YOU BURN
- To ensure an even and smoke-free burn, the wick should be trimmed to a length of 5mm each time before lighting.
WHILST BURNING
- In order to get the most out of your candle, burn it until the majority of the surface of the candle melts. Wax has ‘memory’ so it will follow the first burn so make sure not to extinguish the candle until the majority of the surface has melted. Some wax may remain on the sides which will continue to melt down as you continue each burn.
- If you leave your candle burning longer than four hours, extinguish the flame, trim the wick and then re-light it.
- Do not leave candle burning unattended. Keep away from children, curtains and pets.
KNOW WHEN TO SAY GOODBYE
- To preserve the fragrance, do not burn your candle for more than four hours at a time.
- Discontinue the candle when 1/2 inch of wax remains for your safety. Clean it out, repurpose the vessel.
